Jerry Edward Schwantes Jerry Edward Schwantes, 46, a computer programmer for MGT of America, died Sunday, May 15, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Mary Spain Schwantes. The service will be at 1 p.m. EDT Thursday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. EDT today at BPO Elks Lodge No. 937. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (850-893-4177) is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Florida Affiliate Inc., 1304 E. Sixth Ave., Tallahassee, FL 32303, or Elks National Foundation Scholarship Fund, Lodge No. 937, 276 N. Magnolia Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32301. Jerry co-founded Hobbit Hoagies in 1978, and was serving as treasurer of Elks Lodge BPOE No. 937. Other survivors include his daughter, Kaitlyn; his mother, Elizabeth Schwantes of Fort Lauderdale; his father, James R. Schwantes (and wife Charlotte) of Yukon, Okla.; seven brother, Jim, Joe, John, Jay, Jeff, Jed and Justin; a sister, Ann; and nine nieces and nephews.
