Paul Ewens was under the impression that Andrew was born in Shömbeck,Bei Eger Germany. In a note written by Theresa Rose NiedermeyerKlukas when she was living, she said that her father was born inBöhmen, Austria.

Paul Ewens said that Andrew came to the United States when he was 14years old with another family. (1869). Paul said that when he wassmall, that they all lived at 734 Germania Street. Germania Streethas been renamed to Reservoir Avenue.

August 9, 1993 - Talked with Dr. Thomas Schnieder, husband of ElaineKoltz, he gave me the names of Andrew's parents. Said he got them offof Andrew's marriage application. Said would send me a copy of it.Said he found Andrew in the 1870 Federal Census in Ward 9. Job waslisted as an apprentice printer. Said also listed was a RosalieNiedermeyer, probably a sister. Said they were both listed as beingborn in Bohemia. Said they were living in the household of Carl andMaria Kunz. He the Editor of the See-Bote newspaper. Address was 4777th Street, Milwaukee, WI. Said Carl & Maria listed their birthplaceas Tyrol, Austria.

My mother, Arlene Rose Klukas Taylor, told me that her fatherFrederick William Klukas always thought very highly of hisfather-in-law. She also said that his assessment of Andrew'smechanical ability was summed up in the statement, "he couldn't pullthe cork out of a dog's ass."

RITES ON MONDAY FOR NIEDERMEYER
     Funeral Services for Andrew Niedermeyer, 72, of 734 Reservoir av.,pioneer Milwaukee printer who died at his home Thursday, will be heldat 8:30 Monday at the home of J. H. Becker & Sons, 513 Twelfth st.Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
     Mr. Neidermeyer (sic) was born in Austria, but came to Milwaukee in1867. After learning the printing trade at the old Milwaukee Seebote,he opened a printing establishment, now at 475 East Water st. Heretired about a year ago.
     Surviving are one son, Paul J.; four daughters, Mrs. Rose Ewens,Mrs. Alvin O. Franke, Mrs. Edwin Westenberger, West Bend, Wis., andMrs. Fred Klukas, Goodwin, S. D. His wife died in 1901.
     Mr. Neidermeyer (sic) was secretary of St. Joseph's Benevolentsociety for five years and was a member of the Holy Name society, thePius Benevolent society and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.

Andreas Niedermayer born 16 Nov. 1855 in Luby, house #153, as a son ofJohann Niedermayer and Katherina Glassl. Siblings were Theresia (b. 18Nov. 1845), Johann Georg (b. 27 Oct. 1847), Franciska (b. 3 Feb 1850),Rosalia (b. 13 Oct. 1852), Katharina (b. 1 Jan. 1858), Anna (b. 11Nov. 1860), and Joseph (b. 3 Aug. 1863). Johann Niedermayer (thefather) had two brothers, Karl and Joseph.

June 24, 2001 - Anita "Nettie" Westenberger Kaul was under theimpression that Grandpa Niedermeyer may have had myasthenia gravis.She bases this assumption on how he looked, and acted, compared to howher son (that died) looked and acted before his untimely death.
