Individual Note: My mother, Arlene KLUKAS TAYLOR relates the following story from hermother Theresa NIEDERMEYER KLUKAS. Grandmother said that her motherknew several days beforehand that something was wrong with herpregnancy. In reality the the baby died inside her. Grandmother saidshe sat and cried a lot near the end as she knew that this was goingto take her life and that she was going to leave her husband andlittle children behind.

Louise Pfeifer Niedermeyer was pregnant with her eighth child and inher third trimester when the fetus died inside of her. Grandma saidthat she was within three weeks of delivery. There weren't anycesarean section operations performed at the turn of the century.Hence she died, probably from blood poisoning (toxins).
My grandmother related how Louise sat and cried in her final days asshe knew something was terribly wrong with her pregnancy, but no onewas able to do anything about it. After she died, they opened her andremoved the baby. My grandmother, who was eleven years old at thetime, related how they dressed the little infant , whom they namedLouise, and laid her in her mothers arms, and they buried the twotogether in the same casket. Just this last summer (1995) I was ablewith the help of Dr. Schneider, to find my great grandparents graves, and my grandmother's sister Rose's family. They are all buried in theCalvary Cemetery in Milwaukee. Louise's parents, Ernst and AnnaUllrich Pfeiffer are buried in the Union Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI.
There is no indication on Louisa's headstone that a baby is buriedwith her. This is firsthand, family knowledge that came from mygrandmother, as she was there
Her official cause of death was: Complication of Pregnancy. Reason:Intrauterine fetal death near term.
Louisa's religious affiliation was Roman Catholic.
